Instructions for Riders
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the start of the riding session. If you would like to prepare the horse for the lesson yourself, please arrive about 30 minutes earlier. The weight limit for riders is 80-90kg, depending on the horse, and the rider must be able to mount the horse on their own. Alcohol and horseback riding do not mix, the blood alcohol limit is 0%. Children under 12 who do not have regular riding experience may participate in arena lessons or lead trail rides. Although our horses are gentle and calm, we still recommend personal leisure accident insurance.
Visiting in Stable
Please notify us in advance if you plan to visit outside of your booked riding lesson times.
Do not enter the stables or the horse enclosures without the owner's permission. Horses should not be fed without permission.
Parking spaces are available in the lower yard and next to the riding arena. When arriving at the estate, please drive slowly and carefully.
Remember to consider Marjoniemi's animals
Marjoniementila is home to animals. In addition to horses, we have free-roaming dogs and other animals in the yard area. Please behave calmly and instruct children to do the same. Running, shouting, or throwing stones is not allowed in the stable area. Pets must be kept on a leash and under control, and they must not be allowed into the animal enclosures.
Cancellations
If you are unable to attend your booked lesson, please cancel as early as possible, at least 2 days before the scheduled lesson, via text message to 044 416 8837 on by email katja@marjoniementila.fi. Cancellations made too late will be charged according to the agreed lesson price.
Riding Equipment
At the stable, you will be provided with a safety helmet and a reflective vest for the riding session. Please dress according to the weather. It can get colder on the trail rides compared to arena lessons. Pants should be flexible. Avoid thick seams and slippery materials. It’s best to wear shoes with a small heel. Gloves should allow you to hold the reins between your ring finger and little finger. Mittens, heavy gloves, raincoats, and rustling clothing are not suitable for riding.
Weather Conditions
We reserve the right to cancel the lesson due to weather conditions or other unavoidable obstacles. The winter temperature limit is -15°C, and the temperature will be checked according to the stable's thermometer. In the summer, riding lessons may be cancelled due to heat. Riding will also not be held during thunderstorms or stormy weather. Rain or snow alone is not an obstacle to riding, and lessons will not be cancelled due to these conditions. We will contact riders directly if lessons are cancelled.
